Some Finishing Work on my SKULLS

After many successful pourings of some aluminum skulls using the lost foam method...I found I had a stack of skulls rolling around the shop and they needed to be cleaned up, brushed off, polished a bit and finally mounted on a nice wood base....so here we go...........

wooden blocks of Oak for the Skull bases

I got a nice piece of 3 inch oak from the Home Depot, I cut it into 4 inch segments and using the belt sander and disc sander I sanded and finished the oak bases.

a table full of cast aluminum skulls ready to be mounted onto their wooden bases

the Oak bases are twice coated with stain and a polyurethane sealant...makes them glossy ----wooden bases drying after finishing

PinHeads and Screwed Skulls mounted on bases
